Washington State: Bill to standardize language access guidelines across state agencies signed into law

House Bill 2475 directs the Washington State Office of Equity to develop guidelines that help state agencies provide more consistent language-accessible programs and services across Washington. These guidelines will cover spoken, signed, written, and digital communications. The Office of Equity will also develop a proposal to address the statewide shortage of qualified spoken and sign language interpreters and translators.
